Lamination is a transparent film that can be applied to a variety of substrates. Lamination can be matt, satin, gloss or soft touch. Lamination enhances the aesthetic of a book but also acts as a protective layer. Lamination can be applied to paperback book covers (both sides) to prevent warping.
Lamination will change the way colours present because it absorbs light and reflects colour.
PUBLISHING TIP You can perform a test on how colours present by printing a digital sheet and then applying sticky tape tot he printout. Applying a shiny sticky tape next to a matt sticky tape will show the relative colour shifts.
